DirectRooms.com reports that Tagaytay will be holding a special festival to the pineapple where the whole city will be celebrating the qualities of the delicious fruit.
PHUKET, THAILAND, April 17, 2011 /Agriculture PR News/ -- Pilipinyahan in Tagaytay is a unique festival for the sheer variety of pineapple themed events that take place throughout the week that it runs from 1st to 7th May 2011. Standard shows demonstrate the wide range of dishes that can be cooked using the yellow fruit, such as chicken and coconut and taro leaves combined with pineapple and coconut. Visitors should also search out stalls selling the famous pineapple and pili pie which combines pili nuts for a perfect sweet dessert.
A festival in the Philippines wouldn't be complete without dancing and plenty of loud singing and residents will be working their way through the streets with huge smiles on their faces. A procession of pineapple inspired floats will also accompany the dancing with unbelievable displays of creativity and artistic ability.
The Philippines produces more than one and a half tons of pineapples every year and so many locals are involved with the cultivation and farming of these crops which is why the festival is so popular. This popularity however causes difficulties, with demand for a hotel in Tagaytay outweighing the available supply.
