As Principal of Riverace Greenpiper, as well as throughout his incredible 21 years in the business, Andrew has consistently demonstrated the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the best.
Greenpiper is the wine production branch of the diverse Margaret River viticultural enterprise owned and operated by Mandy and Andy Ferreira. It is the culmination of over 21 years of involvement in the Margaret River wine industry. The company provides construction and management of vineyards as well as wine production and distribution. Starting initially as a vineyard development and management company known as Riverace, they undertook the establishment of an enormous amount of vineyards. To date they have been involved in planting over 3000ha of vineyards, and currently manage 11 properties.
Andrew is actively involved in the international wine importation and distribution business. A big part of his business is contract harvesting and his company harvests from over 110 sites throughout the district each season. Their unique access to fruit at harvest, along with the knowledge gained from planting so many sites in the area has given them a rare understanding of which parcels of fruit on their differing soil types will give them the best quality wine in the differing seasons. The four brands that they are involved in distributing are Feral's Thirst, Night Harvest, Butler Crest and Table Talk. They all come from their managed properties, spread across all the sub regions that make up Margaret River.
During his educational career, Andrew earned a degree in Horticulture from UCLA and a Post Graduate Degree in Economics from Stellenbosch University. In the time away from his busy schedule, he enjoys sea sports such as fishing and diving.
