As Owner of Koolomurt Pastoral Pty. Ltd., as well as throughout his incredible 40 year career, Mr. Wyld has routinely demonstrated the dedication, diligence and professionalism necessary to be among the best.
Koolomurt Pastoral is a beef and wool producer, whose main focus is on beef production. Their hereford breeding operation is carried out at Koolomurt in Western Victoria, with the steers transferred to Box Plains in Gippsland for fattening. Heifers not required for breeding are retained at Koolomurt for fattening in their own feedlot for the domestic market. Injemira bulls have been used exclusively for over 10 years, concentrating on growth rates and carcase yield characteristics.
They breed Merino sheep for wool, with half joined to Border Leicester rams to produce first cross lambs. The merino flock is based on South Australian bloodlines, to produce larger, plain bodied sheep.
Koolomurt Pastoral is Cattlecare, Flockcare, and NFAS accredited as well as MSA certified and European Union accredited. Cattle turnoff each year is 1000 2 year old steers, 360 1 year old heifers and 300 cows. Their Annual sheep turnoff includes 1500 first cross lambs, 1250 Merino wether lambs and 500 CFA ewes.
John has exceptional expertise in utilizing the latest technology and research for livestock production. He is a Master Mariner and a member of the Victorian Farmers Federation. Mr. Wyld is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In the time away from his busy schedule, John enjoys traveling.
