Russian Greenhouse Company Engages Aginsky Consulting Group

A Russian agricultural company has hired Aginsky Consulting Group to perform market planning, financial advisory and capital fundraising services for a multimillion dollar greenhouse development project.

PORTLAND, OR, August 19, 2009 /Agriculture PR News/ -- Aginsky Consulting Group (ACG), a Portland-based management consulting firm, was recently selected from a group of leading advisory firms for an engagement by a major Russian vegetable greenhouse company. ACG was retained to assist the client with an ambitious plan to devise a growth strategy, raise $60 million in financing, and assist with the launch of the largest chain of fully-automated industrial vegetable greenhouse complexes in the former Soviet Union.

"This engagement builds on our already strong presence in the Russian market, previous experience in that country's agricultural sector, and extensive network of international investors interested in doing business in Russia," said ACG managing director Alex Aginsky. "We are excited to be working with such a professional and visionary company and are confident in their ability to achieve long-term sustainable growth and sizeable market share as a result of a simple, yet unique business model."

Russian vegetable production presents a unique and largely untapped business opportunity to capitalize on the huge demand for a product that has virtually no domestic suppliers and very impressive margins. Currently, most vegetables consumed in Russia are imported from Europe, where energy and labor costs there are significantly higher than in Russia. Add to this transportation costs, customs duties and extra pesticides used to extend shelf life and you are left with expensive, low-quality vegetables for Russian consumers. A domestic vegetable producer with sufficient economies of scale could provide a viable alternative in the Russian marketplace.

ACG developed a thorough business plan based on market research, a competitive landscape analysis and an operational and logistical evaluation. Additionally, the project team converted all Russian financials into US GAAP, and created a sophisticated financial model complete with financial projections and an enterprise valuation. Furthermore, ACG has drafted all offering documents for investor solicitation. The first investor meetings have already taken place in Moscow with a number of leading American, European, and Russian Private Equity funds. Other investor meetings are currently planned in various locations around the globe and numerous investment offers have been entertained.
